Privacy Policy
Verified Company Phone Numbers & SafePhonebook.org
Effective date:
This policy covers the app and website
We Dare to Care (“we,” “our,” or “us”), based in California, United States, operates the Verified Company Phone Numbers mobile app and the safephonebook.org website (together, the “Service”). This policy explains how information is collected, used, and disclosed. The app does not collect data or track users; the website uses the tools described below.
1. Information we collect
Our core directory features do not require an account, name, or email address. We aim to limit the information we collect to what is needed to operate and improve the Service.
Mobile app
Verified Company Phone Numbers does not collect personal information, diagnostic reports, or usage analytics, and does not track your use of the app. It does not use advertising trackers or session-recording tools. The app currently has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Website and browser storage
Website hosting and measurement providers may process technical and usage information, such as IP addresses, browser and device details, referring pages, pages viewed, and interactions. Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Microsoft Clarity may use cookies or similar identifiers. This information is not necessarily anonymous.
The website also saves accessibility preferences in your browser’s local storage so your choices can be remembered. This browser storage is separate from the website’s analytics and advertising tools.
Information you provide
If you contact us by email or submit the website’s support form, we receive your name, email address, and message. Providing this information is voluntary and is not required to browse the directory.
Company suggestions collect a company name, an optional official website and notes, a submission identifier, and a submission date. No name, email, or account is required. Please do not include personal information. Suggestions are stored privately for the authorized owner to review by month; they do not trigger notification emails or become public listings automatically. Technical request information is used for spam protection.
The private review area uses Clerk to authenticate the owner, verify their email address, and manage sign-in sessions and security cookies. Creating an account does not grant access to submissions. Google measurement and Clarity scripts are not loaded on the suggestion form, private review, or sign-in pages.
2. How we use information
Information collected through the website or correspondence is used to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the directory and website.
- Understand website use, identify usability problems, and measure advertising performance.
- Respond to support requests, listing corrections, and privacy questions.
- Protect the Service from abuse and meet applicable legal obligations.
3. Advertising, tracking, and disclosure
The directory does not display third-party advertisements, sponsored search results, or affiliate links. This is different from advertising measurement: the website includes a Google Ads tag, as well as analytics and session-recording tools. The separate mobile app does not use these tools or cross-app tracking identifiers such as Apple’s IDFA.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for money. Website tools can transmit identifiers and usage information to their providers. Depending on their use and applicable law, such transfers may be considered “sharing” for advertising purposes. The app’s no-collection statement does not apply to those website transfers.
We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect rights, or respond to a valid legal request. We work to reduce scam risks, but neither a directory listing nor use of the Service guarantees a scam-free experience.
4. Third-party services
- Replit — hosting: hosts the website and support endpoint and processes requests and technical information needed to serve them.
- Replit — database: stores company suggestions and their review status.
- Clerk — owner authentication: processes owner account, verification and session information. See the Clerk Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — website analytics: measures website visits, usage, and interactions.
- Google Ads — advertising measurement: processes website activity and identifiers to measure advertising performance.
- Microsoft Clarity — website usability: processes interaction data for heatmaps and session recordings.
- Google / Gmail — email: handles support and privacy correspondence, including the contact details and message content you provide.
Provider practices and retention settings also affect how they handle information. See the Google Privacy Policy, Microsoft Privacy Statement, and Replit Privacy Policy. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries.
We do not describe these website providers as receiving only anonymous diagnostic data. Their use on the website does not mean they are integrated into the separate app.
5. Cookies and your choices
Public directory pages load measurement tools when you visit; the suggestion form and private review/sign-in pages are excluded. The website does not currently provide an in-site consent or opt-out control for these tools. This policy is a disclosure, not a request for consent. The website does not currently implement automatic handling of Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals.
You can use your browser’s privacy settings to block or remove cookies and site storage, and use available tracking-protection tools. Clearing site storage removes saved accessibility preferences. Browser controls do not necessarily stop every data transfer or delete information already received by providers. Contact us with privacy requests.
6. Data retention and security
We do not maintain a collection of personal information from use of the app. Website information and correspondence may remain in hosting, analytics, email systems, and provider backups while needed for the purposes described above or to meet legal obligations. Retention varies by the information and provider involved.
The website uses HTTPS to encrypt information in transit. No method of electronic communication or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send passwords, verification codes, financial account numbers, or payment details in support messages.
7. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate steps to delete it. The separate app’s no-collection approach remains unchanged.
8. Your privacy questions and requests
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights concerning personal information relating to you, including access, correction, deletion, and opting out of certain uses or disclosures. California residents may contact us about rights available under applicable California law. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Contact We Dare to Care, California, United States, at privacy@wedaretocare.us.
9. External websites, phone calls, and app stores
When you follow a link to another website, contact a listed company, or use an app store, those services handle information under their own policies. We do not control their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service or applicable requirements. Updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date. If the Service’s data practices change, we will update this policy and provide any notice or obtain any consent required by law. Please review this page periodically.
