About SafePhonebook
U.S.-based company phone numbers. Created for consumer safety. Launched in .
SafePhonebook is an independent project by We Dare to Care, built from a computer teacher’s work helping older adults avoid impersonation scams. This is the home of SafePhonebook: dated source checks, direct links to official company websites, and a directory designed to be easy to use.
Our directory lists U.S.-based phone numbers only. Our purpose is to help people avoid scams involving impersonation and spoofed caller ID. Look up a company independently and check its official source before calling—rather than trusting a number in an unexpected call or message. SafePhonebook does not block spoofing or authenticate incoming calls.
Why SafePhonebook exists
After more than 20 years helping older adults navigate technology, the computer teacher behind SafePhonebook had seen too many clients tricked by scammers.
His practical response was simple: write down official numbers for their banks and other essential companies, then stick the list to their computers. When a suspicious call came in, they had a number to look up independently.
SafePhonebook brings that paper list online, so more people can use it—not just his students. Help it reach someone who needs it: share this directory with a parent, friend, or neighbor.
SafePhonebook is a labor of love—and frustration at seeing friends and family swindled by scammers. We know how much a convincing call can cost, both financially and emotionally. We built this app and website to give people a simple way to pause, find an official number, and call back with more confidence.
Independent, and made with care
We don’t accept sponsorships or payment for listings. There are no sponsored rankings or affiliate links in this directory. Our goal is to help people—not to sell them something.
Our mobile app does not collect personal information, track usage, or use advertising trackers. The website has different practices: it uses analytics, advertising measurement, and session-recording tools, and collects information you choose to submit. Our Privacy Policy explains those differences.
We’re open to voluntary donations to cover a cup of coffee or the costs of maintaining the app and website, including hosting and checking listings. You don’t need to donate to use SafePhonebook, and donations don’t influence which companies we list.

How We Verify
“Verified on” means we found the number on the company’s official website on that date. Each listing links to the source so you can check it yourself.
Numbers are not call-tested or continuously monitored and may change. Check the source and department before calling. A matching caller ID does not prove a caller is genuine.
How companies are selected
Our U.S.-focused directory includes curated banks, investment firms, cryptocurrency support, and brands used in impersonation scams. These selections are not ranked “top” lists. Some contacts serve institutions rather than individual customers; check the department.
The credit union selection covers the 25 largest U.S. credit unions by total assets as of June 30, 2026 (Q2 2026), using Depository 360’s NCUA-based ranking (opens in a new tab), cross-checked against StatRanker’s Q2 2026 table (opens in a new tab). This measures size, not service quality or safety. Contact numbers are checked separately on each institution’s official website.
Where we haven’t verified a public number, we link to official support instead, without a verification badge or call button.
The FTC’s 2024 impersonation report (opens in a new tab) informs our selection; it is not a current ranking.
Independence
SafePhonebook is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the listed companies. Company names belong to their respective owners. This directory provides information, not a guarantee of safety.
